Whitney Black's Blog: My fav. gaming console of all time

Fav. gaming console? This was a REAAAALLY tough choice. I thought about this alot, and I ALMOST chose the N64...due to it's awesome games and amazing graphics (for that time period).

However, N64 I felt many of the games were still in that awkward phase of transitioning to 3d...so they didn't quite get it right. Very experimental.

My favorite game of all time (Ocarina of Time) is on the N64. That game is simply a masterpiece. That being said, the original NES is my number one pick for gaming consoles.

For different reasons. The first being that it was revolutionary for it's time...which can't be said for all gaming consoles. Before the NES we were used to systems like Atari, with their horrible graphics and cryptic gameplay.

Atari had many great games..but I'm just sayin when NES came out it blew everyone's balls off. I'm still lookin for my balls to this day. The first time I played Super Mario Bros. I was just like "This is awesome."

Of course by today's standards, most NES games are extremely simplistic...especially in the graphics area. But that doesn't change the fact that there are MANY great games for this console. Gaming is first and foremost about gameplay, not graphics.

Back in the NES era, most of the focus was on gameplay, not producing good graphics...and that's why many of the games are classics to this day.
