The Lawrence Sikutwa & Associates (LSA) group of companies has said the spillover effects of the boom in the mining industry and the continued good performance of the agriculture sector has impacted positively on businesses in Zambia.

Madison Asset Management Company managing director Ken Simwaba said the LSA Group of Companies was excited with the various development activities taking place in various sectors of the economy and in particular the mining industry on the Copperbelt and in North-Western Province.

Mr Simwaba was speaking on Wednesday night at Jubilee Lodge in Kitwe during an LSA-sponsored cocktail party hosted by the Copperbelt Mining, Agriculture and Commercial Show Society.

He said LSA, being a diversified group involved in financial services, tourism and property development, was thrilled with the revival and booming of mining activities on the Copperbelt.

?I am sure you will concur with our view that the spillover effects of the boom in the mining industry and the continued good performance of the agriculture sector are a great boost to our businesses,? he said.

Mr Simwaba said it was against that background that the LSA Group was saluting the Copperbelt Show Society for its efforts of providing a networking platform for local businesses with regional and international partners and making them showcase Zambia?s potential in the various sectors of the economy.

He also said LSA, through its MFinance subsidiary, a merger of Capital Solutions Limited and Madison Finance Company, had set up a one-top shop for micro, small and medium enterprise finance in addition to micro-finance consumer loans.

And Kitwe District Commissioner MacDonald Mtine, who graced the occasion, said the Government?s good policies were bearing fruit as evidenced by the boom in the mining industry and the recorded maize bumper harvest.

Mr Mtine said the challenge now was on the business houses to seize the opportunity and grow their businesses.
