Best In Personal Finance This Week | Yes, I Am Cheap

As I lay in bed typing this up with my BF and the dog, I couldn?t think of a better place to be.? Sure, there are tons of things in need of my attention, but in the constant hustle of life how often do we really get a chance to just sit and be still and enjoy the peace and quiet?? In my case there?s no quiet, because both the dog and the BF are snoring, but it?s close enough.

At the end of this week I will attend the first ever Financial Blogger Conference.? If you?ve followed my blog since its beginning you?ll know that I?ve been exactly nowhere since its inception.? Sad, but true.? I?ve decided to both spend the time and (egads) money, on myself, for something that I truly enjoy doing.

In the spirit of improving yourself, I bring you some of the best articles on personal finance that I found this week.

  • Mark Riddix from Buy Life Buffett has a problem that I would love to have.? He has too much extra money left over each month and needs your help in deciding what to do with it.? Mark should just cut me a check every month.
  • Krantcents did some digging to find some High Paying Careers You Would Never Think Of.?? I?m the kind of girl that?s willing to do just about any type of work, but one of them involves port-a-potties and I don?t know if I could do that one.
  • I am a huge believer in peer-to-peer lending and its potential of giving you a better return than savings accounts.? Money Mamba has an interesting methodology for improving you peer-to-peer lending returns.
  • Suba from Wealth Informatics goes through an entire analysis to help you figure out how much emergency fund you really need.? Considering that I?ve heard everything from $1,000 to one year?s salary, this might help you clear through all the advice to find something that works for you.
  • I?ve been checking out solar technology for years and I love that prices are falling (probably due to the fact that China is now dominating production).? I?d love to know someone that?s gone through the process of going solar before investing in the technology, so reading an account from a homeowner who did over at Sustainable Personal Finance was pretty entertaining for me. Can you imaging getting 90% of your electricity needs from the sun? How awesome.

That?s it for me!? I?m pretty happy to be able to put the laptop away, roll over, and snuggle with my dog and BF.? Hope you have a lazy Sunday afternoon too!
